For students who love art, don’t miss this virtual art workshop for elementary artists (grades 1-5).

“Your Voice Matters: Artists as Leaders” is a 30-minute virtual art workshop for elementary-aged artists, led by arts educator Chelsea Santos Friberg. This workshop will explore how young people can use their art to express themselves and spread positive messages in their communities. Artists will participate in a read-aloud for the book Speak Up by Miranda Paul and Ebony Glenn, featuring a diverse group of children taking action when they see a problem that needs fixing.

Artists will spend time discussing what problems they have noticed or experienced in their communities, and by the end of the workshop will start creating their own original artworks to raise awareness and promote positive change.

September 12th at 10 am Eastern.
