  • An unforgettable learning experience in one of the world’s most magical settings!

The BOLT Leadership Program at Disney is an engaging three-day learning experience at Walt Disney World’s convention center and theme parks. Each day mixes collaborative activities and theme park adventures, including a Disney “Imagination Campus” program. BOLT’s goal is for students to acquire the building blocks necessary to develop their leadership skills – and to leave better equipped and energized to embrace new challenges, serve their schools and communities, and reach their own personal goals.

The BOLT Leadership Program explores key building blocks of leadership …

  • Teamwork and Collaboration
  • Connection and Community
  • Vision and Goal Setting
  • Creativity and Innovation
  • Adaptability and Problem Solving
  • Strengths and Personal Values
  • Comfort Levels and Personal Growth
  • Decision Making / Shared Responsibility

Through the program’s activities and discussion, adventures in the theme parks, and special events, our goal is for the overall experience to create rich and foundational memories that might positively shape every BOLT attendee’s development as a student, citizen, and leader. Programs are also designed to build upon each other, as some students return the following year to expand their learning and leadership skills. So, whether this is the first BOLT program for some students, or they are joining us for a repeat visit, our team prepares each year to bring innovative, creative, leadership-building opportunities to every participant in an engaging and magical setting. An overall objective of BOLT is to create a rich experience that prompts curiosity, discovery, and even a sense of awe – as students begin to expand their horizons and wonder about their own potential and future possibilities.

Disney Imagination Campus

As a participant in the Building Our Leaders of Tomorrow Programming, our students will have an opportunity to participate in one Disney Imagination Campus program. These guided, in-park field studies are accredited, standards-based, and designed to reinforce our leadership lessons.

Disney Imagination Campus’ curriculum shows students, teachers, and parents how something called Imagination Powered Learning can make a lasting impact on how students feel about learning, and about their own potential.

Through a comprehensive collection of workshops, Disney Imagination Campus is committed to helping students learn how to apply their imaginations to solve many of the challenges they may face throughout their lifetime – in wildly creative ways. Disney Imagination Campus believes that new perspectives, creative thinking, fearless exploration and unfettered wonder can lead to amazing things.

Other Trip Planning Information

Airport Transportation:

We are not able to provide transportation to and from the airport; however, taxis and ride share services are readily available at the Orlando airport (MCO). For families and groups, Mears Transportation also offers service to and from MCO with an option of vehicles (including SUVs, vans, and buses). You can learn more here.

Park Transportation:

From the hotel/resort you can take Disney bus transportation to all of the parks, as well as to Disney Springs where there are additional dining, entertainment, and shopping options. Lyft and Uber are also options that are readily available throughout the Disney property.

Planning the Day

  • Students should arrive on time to the check-in each morning, where breakfast will be provided to students. During the program, students will then eat lunch in the park with their fellow students and BOLT educators. (Parents/chaperones will not be with students in the park during the BOLT programming, so you will have time to enjoy the resort,  parks, resort amenities, or shop on your own.)
  • Students will be released to parents or chaperones at the end of each day after BOLT programming has concluded. (BOLT staff are not responsible for students after the BOLT programming has ended, and so parents/chaperones should pick-up their students at the designated place and time each day.)

Navigating Your Trip to Walt Disney World:

  • We suggest you set up a My Disney Experience account (and download the app to your phone) for ease of planning and tracking dinner reservations, etc. Hotel reservation, dining reservations, park tickets, and more can all be accessed and managed from your My Disney (And the My Disney app can even work as your hotel room key if you choose.)
  • Students are able to use their park-hopper tickets each day after the BOLT program concludes if their parents/chaperones want to accompany them to the theme parks in the evening.
  • To prepare for your trip, you might want to explore this site to “Get ready for your trip to Walt Disney World.” It can help you set up the My Disney account and app – and also explore options for making plans, dining reservations, etc.

Park-Hopper Passes:

We will be ordering the BOLT student park-hopper passes (and any additional companion passes that are purchased) through our group program. Once those tickets arrive, we will scan and email you copies. These tickets can also be uploaded to your My Disney account.

Group Rates and Fundraising

Groups
Group rates or packages (usually for 4 or more students) may be available. Contact us via email at info@pegasussprings.org if you’d like to speak to someone or receive more information about possibly enrolling a group of students in an upcoming BOLT program.

Fundraising
Some BOLT attendees (both individual registrants and groups) engage in fundraising efforts throughout the year to support participation in an upcoming BOLT program. Pegasus Springs Education Collective sponsors BOLT and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has enrolled in the RaiseRight fundraising program as one way for individuals or groups who want to support BOLT and/or even their own participation in an upcoming BOLT program. RaiseRight allows enrollees to earn a percentage of the money spent from the purchase of gift cards, shopping online, or purchases made at a participating store, restaurant, or other retail establishment. Each participating retailer donates a percentage of your purchase back to the enrolled program. In this way, people can fundraise for a chosen program or organization simply by earning a percentage of an amount they might already be spending. If you’d like to speak to someone or receive more information about how RaiseRight might work for you as a fundraising tool, contact us via email at info@pegasussprings.org

“The BOLT program isn’t just a trip to Disney World, it is a thoughtfully constructed and expertly facilitated leadership experience. Our son was the youngest student in the group and he was transformed by it. He went from quite nervous and unsure to confident – both in himself and his ability to try new things and his capacity to build strong relationships. When he got home we joked ‘Who is this kid?’ as he proudly announced that he was ready to try other new things because he is a ‘BOLT kid.’ People talk a lot about the magic of Disney, but in our family we talk more about the magic of BOLT!”

– Parent of a BOLT participant

Sign up today! Breakfast, lunch are provided each day and 3-day “Park Hopper” passes are included with each registration.

By connecting and collaborating with students from different schools and regions, the BOLT Leadership Program at Disney provides a memorable experience. By engaging student leaders as integral partners in all aspects of their own education, we hope to provide students a collaborative experience that inspires them to be lifelong learners and engaged citizens.

Our leaders of tomorrow are our students – today!
